A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The Installation of Officer's was held on January 6th and a group of young men from Clovis High School sang several numbers along with Mrs. Ann Whitby accompanied by Mr. John Burke. Refreshments were served in the dining hall and a good time was enjoyed by all.
In January it was moved by motion and vote that the Lodge become the official sponsor of the DeMolay group that was meeting at Clovis Lodge. It was passed and they tried to help the group in what ever fashion they could possibly help.
In the stated meeting in February, Senior Warden Gerald A. Sharer, moved that the sum of $10.00 of Lodge funds be allowed for the purpose of supplying birthday and Christmas greetings for the members of Clovis Lodge and their families who were living in the Masonic Homes. The motion passed. After Lodge on the 22nd, the brother's who were present, were treated to a skit performed by the Central California Research Lodge. The skit was on Bro. George Washington and the early life of the republic.
In March the Secretaries salary was raised to $135.00 per month retroactive back to the first of the year. (See how sneaky those Secretaries are??? hehehe) On March 22nd Bro. Cleon Henry Glougie passed away and was laid to rest on March 24. Kind words spoken were, "Brother Glougie possessed those sterling qualities which made him a highly respected and well beloved citizen of the community." He was a 50 year Mason and a Past Master of Fontenelle Lodge 138 of Iowa.
In April the brethren were urged to give all of the support they could to the new chapter of DeMolay. It was hoped that they would attend as many of the DeMolay meetings as possible.

May 24th Past Master Milton S. McMurtry passed away at his home in Clovis. He was laid to rest on the 28th day of May in Clovis Cemetery. The large crowd of Mason's and friends attested to the high respect with which he was held in the community. "Dr. Mack" was a dedicated physician and surgeon of the pioneer type and served the community well in that respect. He was very active in Clovis Lodge and dedicated a considerable amount of time and effort into the improvement of the Lodge.
On September 6th Past Master Richard Bradford passed away in Fresno and was laid to rest at Tollhouse Cemetery on September 10. The large crowd of people gathering at his service gave credence to Brother Dick's popularity in the community.
